IMPORTANT – Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan Review in Clarington Monday May 4
STOP THE TURBINE INFILL ACROSS THE MORAINE.
We are continuing on several fronts to make every effort to STOP THE WIND TURBINES and to PROTECT THE MORAINE from these kinds of developments. There are many people working behind the scenes in Manvers and in other nearby communities who do not understand the word QUIT.
One strategy that will be effective is a meaningful turnout to the Public Meetings that have been set up, chaired by David Crombie, to hear from you on what ought to be suitable uses for the protected Moraine
The second effective strategy is for us to send comments to an EBR site set up for responding to the Crombie hearings. These submissions will have to be reviewed and commented upon. The more we send, the greater the impact on the Crombie Review.
The May 4th hearing is part of the 2015 Co-ordinated Review of the Growth and Greenbelt Plans led by Mr. Crombie. Four Plans are being reviewed – the Oak Ridges Moraine Plan along with the Niagara Escarpment Plan, the Greenbelt Plan and the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Our interest is to see the Moraine better protected from development like Industrial Wind Turbines. So we need everyone who can to turn out for the May 4 meeting and speak to Moraine issues. Then you are also asked to help by writing in to the EBR site about the need to protect the Moraine.
May 4th is our best chance to turn out in significant numbers to support those in our community who have expertise regarding the Moraine as they will be speaking to the issue.
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS.
We will send out speaking points on the Moraine before May 4 and provide details on how to comment to the Crombie Review with the same points. Try to go on Monday, May 4 and definitely put in comment(s) when you get the details from us. Deadline for comments will be May 28 but best to do right after May 4. (You can still comment even if you can’t attend.)
