We want to assure you that the Environmental Review Tribunal (ERT) hearing on the appeal against the Sumac Ridge Wind project is still in existence despite the lengthy time lapse since the process began.
We have been working hard in preparation for a hearing which we now expect to come this fall.
The ERT hearing has not started and, of course, we have not had a decision on an appeal – originally due on June 24, 2014. Instead, the developer has asked for and obtained repeated adjournments from the ERT to put its project in order. A date is set for another conference call with the ERT on August 13. The call is open to all who are interested and details will be sent out on how to join the call nearer the time in case you are interested and available.
At that point we should find out what the developer is doing about one turbine site, which they now admit is too close to a house (a “receptor” in Ministry of the Environment terms).
Thank you for your patience and please stay with us.
